Policy for awarding places in competitions

If there are just 3 entries in a race - should all get medals?
Our current policy is that they don't!

Our policy on awarding medals/prizes/trophies for placings in our races (and specifically in our Club Championships) is currently under review and will be discussed at our coming General Meeting on the 10th Sept, 7:30 PM at the club house.

The current policy, discussion and some arguments for and against a change can be found in the News section of our our web site. Please take the time to read it and come to our meeting. If you are unable to attend the meeting we would still appreciate your comments and in particular any other arguments for or against.

Club Presentation Night

As last years event at Sophia's Restaurant was such a success, it will be held there again this year on 15th November. Apart from a great social evening, the Clubs awards for the 2003 Track Championships, the State Club Teams Championships and the Club Road Championships will be presented. PLEASE MARK THE DATE IN YOUR DIARY

Club Jersey Sponsorship

Excellent progress has been made by Rowan Geddes to secure club sponsorship for the club and new clothing and we hope to see the proposed designs in the near future.

Motion to have an overall Road Champion based on points

The proposed motion to award points for each of our road club championships events was discussed at our last general meeting but the motion was not moved. Those that initially raised the motion were happy that the riders who won the Club Road Race would be recognised as the Club Road Champion.

Assistance Needed - Blackburn Cycling Club Newsletter Editor

After several years of dedication Tim Clarke has retired from the position of Newsletter Editor.

A great opportunity exists for somebody to really make a difference and assist with communication within the Club. The newsletter has been the primary means of making sure that club members are recognised for their achievements, kept informed of up and coming events and recent news. Please contact the Secretary Alan Barnes.
