BBN Le Tour Time Trial Series: A Regional Combine Success

Almost 60 riders are consistently participating in the BBN  Le Tour Time Trial Series. The Series finale is on Sunday September 21 2008. The schedule is 8:45 am close entries. 0915 start and presentations at 11am.

Riders from many different cycling clubs are participating in this unique challenging Melbourne event.

Thanks so much to all the volunteers who have made the BBN Le Tour Time Series such an awesome success.

A special thank you to John Nicholson and Brian Harwood who both have worked tirelessly over winter to make this a success. Also a special thanks to Alan Barnes who has also given up multiple Sundays to ensure the TT runs smoothly. And most of all to Doug Reith for running the desk. Thanks to Simon Quick for consistently helping with the holding and all  the other volunteers who put up the signs, assemble the tent and make sure our races continue to be the safest in Melbourne.

But the TT wouldn't be as great without all those cool prizes we give away. Thanks so much to our friends and sponsor Le Tour Cycles for their generous and unconditional sponsorship.

And again riders, thank you for supporting the BBN Le Tour Time Trial Series. You have made all the effort worthwhile.

Some general notes. Remember the presentations are at 11am, so whilst the results are getting worked out you can continue to ride on the Yarra Boulevard to get those extra ks in.
It takes a while for the times to be worked out. But please avoid hovering around the desk and blocking the road. This will annoy the locals and put our permit in danger.

If you do not start at your allocated time, you put us all under a great deal of stress because it complicates the results, so we urge everyone to ensure they start at their allocated times. This is very important. And please for the September TT, take advantage of the pre-entry. It makes our job a lot easier.

And also if you start late and then wonder why the results take so long to calculate don't get your parents to come and tell us off. The reason we take so long to calculate the results is because of the many late entries and people who don't start on time. We try to be understanding of everyone, but if you are late or do not start on time, you delay the TT. So be a bit more understanding and considerate of the other riders.
And also ipods are banned. No one should be riding with an ipod at any time anyway!

But on a good note, it has been awesome to see everyone's times improve each month, so you make sure you come to our last winter TT in September. Keep training and ride faster!

If you have any suggestion on how to improve the BBN Le Tour TT, please email Doug Reith on ereith@hotmail.com.

The September BBN Le Tour TT will be special.

If you have done a duty over winter for the BBN Le Tour TT, you will race September's TT for free.

Also junior parents. if you have your junior racing in the TT, you can race for free. This is not exclusive to Blackburn members, but exclusive to South Eastern Combine members (Carnegie Caulfield, Chelsea and Mornington) but you do need a valid CSV race license to participate.
