The Junior Club Team Championships on Sunday 7 February confirmed Blackburn’s prominence in both team disciplines on the track, with one quarter of all teams representing us. We also demonstrated our depth by fielding multiple teams in several categories. We entered 15 teams across most events, and came away with 9 medals, including Golds for the W17 Team Pursuit and Team Sprint, and for the W15 Team Pursuit. Overall, we were second on the medal tally for total medals, and third for Golds, and with plenty of results which point to even greater success next year.

These team championships saw us focusing on three important but distinct objectives:-
Maximum results in these 2010 Championships
Building experience and confidence for 2011 and beyond
Strengthening team spirit and cohesion within the Club

Every rider who represented Blackburn was well prepared for the technical challenges of these events, in many cases for the first time. Simon had worked hard with the teams over several Fridays leading up to the Championships to ensure that everyone was comfortable with the starting gate technique, pacing and efficient taking of turns, and our teams were notably better drilled and more cohesive than most of our competitors.

We would like to congratulate all of our medal winners and team members who made this a great and successful day:-
