MultiLane StopWatch - Cheat Sheets

The following instructions may help first time users.

  1. If using the printer, plug in the external power supply, turn both power supply and printer on.
  2. Select MODE button several times until 1:TRACK 2:ROAD appears
  3. Select: 2 ENTER 1 2. You should have displayed SINGLE - NNNN
  4. Take a note of the digits represented by the N above. This is used to find the results in memory later.

  6. Repeated pushes of the START/LAP will record the elapsed times from the start recording the place (potentially a lap)
    NOTE:
    1. After each push of the START/LAP the display of the time will pause on the screen for ONLY 4 SECONDS. If you are writing down times, get it down quickly.
    2. There is no review of the past times captured in memory until the watch is stopped.
    3. You can optionally push the numeric buttons to record the bib no for the time last recorded. After pushing the numeric buttons push ENTER to save the bib no entered.
  7. Select STOP/RESET to stop the time. Time can be written down.
  8. Select STOP/RESET again to reset the watch
OR EDIT to review the times (see below).
  9. The SINGLE - NNNN will again be displayed with N having been incremented by one.

NOTE:

The watch has a problem that if TWO buttons are pressed at the same time (ie within 1000th of a second) one time may not be recorded. There are many times when the buttons are pressed with 100ths of a second when you here just one beep but both times ARE recorded. It is VERY RARE that the times are dropped but it has happended.

As a stopwatch feed into Computer for instantaneous review and processing

For use with MULTI LANE Software: set up and use as per above

See Multi Lane Software disc (doco in on it).

For use with the BBN Race Timing Software

  1. If using more than one button to capture times of a single rider (typically an ITT), set up watch with multiple buttons in lanes 1, 2, 3.
  2. Connect watch to PC via serial port or serial-USB converter.
  3. Set up as for Hand held stopwatch lap times of one or more riders
  4. In setting up, enter fictitious bib no for each lane button. This is important to get the watch to send the time to the PC immediately on a button press.
  5. Please see Race Time Software cheat sheet (yet to be written?).
