Skills/Novice Clinic

This training session is provided primarily for riders new to track racing and is available during the period of daylight savings time through the Summer Track Season.
The objectives are:

Although the intention was to also provide an opportunity for potential members to come and have a go, our insurance requires that all participants must have an ACF licence: either a racing licence or a Ride (Silver) licence. Such a licence is obtained through club membership.

The club house opens at 6:00pm and riders should be ready to get on the track at 6:30pm.

Club bikes are available and are free for use by club members. For use by non BBN members we ask for a donation of $5.00 to assist with maintenance. If you need to borrow a club bike, or take out club registration, or have general enquiries about the club, cycling and getting involved - please be there close to 6:00 pm.

Please do not enter the track and start riding until the gate has been unlocked and the coach gives instruction to enter. This applies to all riders - no matter the experience level. There may be general members of the public on the track (on road/mountain/bmx bikes) and new members with no experience might follow your example.

Cost is $2.00 for the session.

The evenings can be cold so PLEASE be prepared by bringing warm clothing. Several groups of riders will take turns using the track so you most likely will be off the bike at times - and will cool down quickly. Many of the drills are skill based and during some of them you may not work up a sweat!

Don't forget your helmet and if you have cycling shoes, bring not only your shoes but also the matching pedals off your road/mountain bike.

Thanks, Alan Barnes.
